Enable Single Sign-On (SSO) via Xero or Intuit

How to enable SSO so you can log in with your Xero or Intuit credentials, what changes after you do, and common questions.

Written by Lubica Jakubac

What Single Sign-On is and how it works in Datamolino

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows you to log in to Datamolino using the same credentials you already use for Xero or Intuit (QuickBooks Online). Instead of maintaining a separate Datamolino password, you authenticate through your accounting software provider and are brought directly into the app.

👉 Which providers are supported?

Datamolino supports SSO via Xero and via Intuit (QuickBooks Online). No other SSO providers are available.

👉 Does SSO replace two-factor authentication?

Yes. The 2FA step only applies to email and password logins. SSO authentication is handled entirely by Xero or Intuit, so their own security controls apply.

👉 I have multiple Xero/Intuit logins, which one do I use?

You must use the Xero or Intuit login associated with the same email address used for your Datamolino profile.

How to enable SSO on your account

Before you can fully switch your account to SSO-only login, your Xero or Intuit account must first be linked to Datamolino. The first successful SSO login creates this link automatically. Once linked, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Datamolino account.

  2. Click on your initials in the top right corner and navigate to User profile

  3. Open security tab

  4. Click Switch to Single Sign-On.

👉 I don't see the "Switch to Single Sign-On" option

This option only appears after a Xero or Intuit account has been linked to your Datamolino account. To create the link:

  1. Go to the Datamolino login page

  2. Click Sign in with Xero or Sign in with Intuit

  3. Complete the login process through your provider

After the first successful SSO login, the option will appear in your Security settings.

👉 I can’t connect Intuit SSO

Intuit requires your email address to be verified in QuickBooks before SSO can connect successfully. If your Intuit email is not verified:

  • the SSO connection may fail

  • or the account may not link correctly

Verify your email address in QuickBooks, then try again.

How SSO affects two-factor authentication

👉 What happens to my existing 2FA setup?

When you switch to SSO-only login, Datamolino’s own 2FA step is no longer used.

Your existing 2FA settings are not deleted, but they are bypassed while you continue logging in through Xero or Intuit.

👉 What happens to email backup 2FA?

Email backup 2FA is also disabled when SSO-only login is enabled. Since authentication is handled entirely by Xero or Intuit, Datamolino no longer shows backup code or email verification options during login.

Common questions about SSO

👉 Can I still use my Datamolino password after enabling SSO?

No. After clicking Switch to Single Sign-On, password authentication for your account is disabled. You must continue logging in using Sign in with Xero or Intuit.

👉 I forgot my Xero or Intuit login - how do I access Datamolino?

You’ll need to recover access through Xero or Intuit directly.

If you urgently need access to Datamolino, contact support@datamolino.com

👉 Can I switch back from SSO to email and password login?

Yes - but this change must be made by the Datamolino support team. Contact support@datamolino.com and we’ll help re-enable password authentication on your account.
