Can I permanently turn off 2FA?
For paid Datamolino accounts, no. 2FA is required on all paid plans and cannot be permanently disabled. You can temporarily disable it if you need to:
switch to a new authenticator app or device
reset your 2FA setup
recover access to your account
After disabling 2FA, Datamolino will ask you to set it up again before you can continue using the app.
What do I need to temporarily disable 2FA?
To disable 2FA, you need:
your current Datamolino password
either:
a 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or
an unused backup code
👉 I still have access to my authenticator app or backup codes
Log in to Datamolino. If you are using a backup code to log in, enter it in place of the 6-digit authenticator code at the 2FA step.
Go to User profile → Security.
In the authentication section, click to disable 2FA.
Enter your current password and either a code from your authenticator app or a second backup code (different from the one you used to log in, if applicable).
Confirm. 2FA is now disabled on your account.
👉 Can I use the same backup code twice?
No. Backup codes can only be used once. If you used a backup code to log in, you must use a different unused backup code to disable 2FA.
👉 What happens to email backup codes?
Email backup codes are automatically disabled when 2FA is disabled. You will need to enable them again after setting up 2FA again.
I lost my authenticator app and backup codes
If you no longer have access to your authenticator app and have no unused backup codes left, contact support@datamolino.com. The team can help reset 2FA on your account. For faster options to regain access to your account in the meantime, see Reset 2FA or recover access after losing your authenticator.
Why am I being asked to enable 2FA again?
2FA is mandatory for paid Datamolino accounts. If you disable it, Datamolino will redirect you to the setup screen before you can continue using the app. If you are switching to a new authenticator app or device, disable 2FA first, then immediately set it up again using your new authenticator.
