Uploads paused: processing limit reached

Why uploads stop being processed when a limit is reached, what each limit means, and how to start processing again.

Written by Lubica Jakubac

Processing limit reached - what happens?

When a processing limit is reached, files you upload will still arrive in Datamolino, but they will not be processed or extracted. Instead, they are placed into a paused (suspended) state until the issue is resolved. Once the suspension is lifted, processing resumes automatically and the files continue through the normal workflow.

Pausing uploads does not delete anything. Your files remain safely stored and do not need to be uploaded again. Suspended uploads can be found in Import history, where the status and suspension reason are shown.

What can cause uploads to be paused?

Datamolino pauses processing in these situations:

  • Trial document limit reached. Trial accounts have a fixed number of documents they can process. Once you reach it, further uploads are paused with reason "trial limit exceeded".

  • Trial period ended. Trials also have an end date. After that date, uploads are paused even if you have not used all the included documents.

  • Overage limit exceeded. Paid accounts that have not been verified can process documents up to an overage limit. Past that, uploads are paused with reason "overage limit exceeded". Verified accounts do not have this limit.

Account suspensions and archived folders also stop processing. Those are not strictly "limits" but they produce the same paused state - see [LINK-TODO: web upload troubleshooting] article for details.

The warnings you will see in the app

When a limit is reached, Datamolino shows a warning. The exact message tells you which limit was hit and what to do next.

👉 What will I see when my account hits an overage processing limit?

You will see this message in your account: "Uploads are paused as you've reached your monthly limit. To continue, please contact our team to verify your account."

👉 What does the trial limit warning look like for documents?

When a trial reaches its document limit, the import window shows: "Your trial limit is exceeded. Please upgrade to a paid plan to proceed with processing. Suspended records will be automatically re-processed. If you need to extend your limits please contact us."

Any documents you import after this point go into a suspended state and are visible in the folder's Import history.

👉 What does the trial limit warning look like for bank statements?

Once the limit is reached, the Bank statements subfolder shows: "Trial limit exceeded. Please contact our support via chat or at support@datamolino.com or upgrade to a paid plan." New statements appear with a Suspended status.

👉 What happens to emails forwarded to a folder while limits are hit?

Emails forwarded to the folder are listed as "Stopped emails" even if the sender is approved.

Trying to process them while the limit is still active returns: "Your current feeplan (Trial period) does not allow to perform this action. Please upgrade to a paid user plan."

👉 What does the trial expired message say?

Once the 14-day trial period ends, new uploads through the web app or mobile app are blocked. Clicking the Import button shows: "Your trial expired. Please upgrade to a paid plan if you want to continue using our service. Suspended records will be automatically re-processed. If you need to extend trial period please contact us."

On the mobile app, attempting to import after a limit or expiry returns: "Received error from server. Try again later."

What you can still do while uploads are paused

While uploads are paused, you can still:

  • Upload more files (they will queue in the paused state).

  • Work on documents that have already been processed - code them, edit, export.

  • View Import history and see what is paused and why.

  • Delete paused uploads if you uploaded something by mistake.

How to start processing again

What to do if the overage limit was exceeded?

Contact support@datamolino.com. Including a rough estimate of how many more documents you expect to process can help speed things up.

Support may:

  • verify your account,

  • suggest a plan upgrade, or

  • add prepaid credit to your account.

Alternatively, you can wait for the next billing cycle to begin.

Once the issue is resolved, all suspended documents and bank statements are automatically sent for extraction. Stopped emails are processed once you click Process once or Process always on each one.

There is no need to re-upload the files.

Deleting suspended uploads

If you uploaded something by mistake and want to remove it rather than wait for processing to resume, you can delete suspended uploads from Import history. Bank statements are deleted slightly differently because they live in the Bank statements subfolder.

👉 How can I delete a suspended document?

  1. Open the folder, then go to the Folder Menu and click Import History

  2. Find the suspended upload you want to delete and click Delete.

👉 Can I delete suspended documents in bulk?

No. It is not possible to delete multiple suspended uploads at once from Import History.

👉 How can I delete a suspended bank statement?

Open the suspended bank statement, click the tool menu and select Delete. The statement is moved to the Trash.

To remove it for good, open the tool menu again and select Permanently delete.

👉 Can I delete suspended bank statements in bulk?

  1. Yes. Tick the boxes for the bank statements you want to delete and click Delete. They are moved to the Trash.

What a verified account means

A verified account can process documents beyond the prepaid amount, with no overage limit applied. Verification is based on billing history and account status, and is handled by the Datamolino support team. If you expect to process more documents than your current plan allows, contact support@datamolino.com with a rough estimate of your expected volume.
