How direct debit works
👉 What is direct debit used for?
Direct debit lets Datamolino collect subscription payments automatically from your bank account after each billing cycle.
👉 Which provider handles the mandate?
Direct debit mandates are handled through GoCardless. When you add a mandate, Datamolino redirects you to the GoCardless authorisation flow.
👉 Who can change the payment method?
The account owner can change the payment method.
👉 Can every account use direct debit?
Direct debit is available for established paid accounts where the mandate currency can match the subscription plan currency (e.g. AUD plan and AUD mandate). Direct debit is not available for an upgrade from free trial.
Set up a direct debit mandate
The account owner can take the following steps to set up a direct debit:
Click your name in the upper-right corner.
Select Account Management.
Scroll down to the payment method section and click Add Direct Debit.
Make sure to select the same currency for your direct debit mandate as you use for your subscription.
Important note: Make sure to select the same currency for your direct debit mandate as you use for your subscription.
👉 Why does the currency matter?
The direct debit mandate currency must match your Datamolino fee plan currency. If the bank account currency is different from the fee plan currency, Datamolino shows a currency warning.
👉 Which currencies can be used?
Datamolino supports direct debit mandates in GBP, EUR, AUD, USD.
Cancel a direct debit mandate
The account owner can cancel the direct debit mandate from Account Management:
Open Account Management.
Find the direct debit payment method section.
Click Cancel Direct Debit.
