I have invoices with a green envelope and a "1" - I have looked at these and can't see if there are any queries with them?

It means that the invoice contains a comment. You can read it by hovering over the bubble or in the invoice preview.

Open the invoice and scroll down. You will find it on the right side just below the original invoice:
