Attachments in Datamolino: how to add, view, and export them

Link supporting documents to your invoices in Datamolino and export them automatically to Xero or QuickBooks Online.

Written by Tina

Attachments let you keep supporting documents - receipts, contracts, delivery notes - linked to the invoice they belong to, right through to export.

Adding attachments to an invoice

Underneath the invoice preview, an Attachments section lets you attach supporting files without leaving the invoice.

👉 What can I attach, and how many files?

You can add up to 9 files to each invoice. Supported formats are PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, and XLSX.

Viewing and removing attachments

👉 How do I open an attachment I've added?

Click the file name to open it in a new window.

👉 What happens if I delete an attachment in Datamolino?

The attachment is removed from the invoice in Datamolino. Note: it won't be automatically removed from your accounting software - you'll need to re-export the invoice for the removal to carry over.

Exporting attachments to Xero or QuickBooks Online

👉 Where do attachments show up once I export the invoice to Xero?

Attachments transfer automatically when you export - no separate step is needed. In Xero, they appear alongside the exported bill:
