Folder Notes: share instructions with everyone in a folder

How to use Folder Notes to leave coding instructions, contacts or process notes that every user of the folder can see.

What Folder Notes are for

Folder Notes are an information board for the users of one folder. Anything you write there is visible to everyone who works in that folder. Typical uses:

  • Instructions on how to code invoices in standard cases, and how to handle edge cases

  • Contact details for the client or for specific suppliers

  • Internal process notes

  • Anything else your team should know about this folder

Where to find Folder Notes

Open the folder, then choose Folder Notes next to Folder Menu.

How to edit Folder Notes

Click Edit, type or change the text, then click Save.

Folder Notes and Contact Notes

Folder Notes apply to the whole folder. Contact Notes apply to one supplier or customer contact. Use a Contact Note when the information only matters for documents from that contact, for example a reminder about how a particular supplier invoices you.
