What do I do when I receive an "Export failed: Unauthorized Request: User is not a member of the specified Realm" error when exporting an invoice to Quickbooks?

If you receive an "Export failed: Unauthorized Request: User is not a member of the specified Realm" error when exporting an invoice to Quickbooks, please take the following steps:

  1. Check whether the user attempting the export has the correct permissions in the QuickBooks company/client that the folder is connected to.

    • Can they create bills, expenses, or invoices directly in the QuickBooks company/client?

  2. After their permissions have been adjusted, please refresh the Quickbooks connection (steps here), click on "Dismiss" in the error message, and re-attempt export.

Tip: If some users can successfully export documents from this folder and others cannot, compare their QuickBooks permissions to determine how access needs to be adjusted.
