You can manage how strict your approval process is by changing the 'Blocking editing after submission' setting.
If 'Blocking editing after submission' is enabled, documents submitted for approval will be blocked from editing.
If 'Blocking editing after submission' is disabled, document submitted for approval can be edited at any time.
Difference in approval workflow:

To change the 'Blocking editing after submission' setting, take the following steps:
Go to 'Folder Menu' -> 'Accounting & Automation' ๐
Then go to 'Approval' -> 'Blocking editing after submission', click to 'Disable' and then 'Save'.
