Improvements to the Document detail

We've updated the Document Detail layout for a more user-friendly experience.

For most users, these updates are incremental and aim to improve navigation within captured data.

Refinements in Xero integration

We've made changes to streamline the review and editing data in the the line items interface, resulting in faster processing of line item data.

Tax Calculations

We've updated our approach to calculating tax amounts within line items and the tax summary.

๐Ÿ‘‰ NEW Calculate Tax button

  • This action will calculate the TAX amount and help you validate the taxes in the validation widget.

  • It works for both "Let Xero calculate tax" and "Send exact tax amount" settings.

๐Ÿ‘‰Tax Amount calculation on Tax Code dropdown change

  • Changing the value in the Tax Code dropdown now triggers the calculation of the tax amount at the line item level based on the underlying tax rate %.

  • If the tax codes have been suggested based on your automation settings, you can use the Calculate Tax button to re-calculate the tax amounts on all line items.

๐Ÿ‘‰NET v. TOTAL for export

  • Users can now select between using NET or TOTAL amounts for export.

๐Ÿ‘‰Live Calculations in the validation widget

  • Any edits to values will automatically update the validation widget.

Read-Only Data Fields

Values, not impacting export are now displayed in read-only mode for better data validation:

  • When you switch between the Let Xero calculate tax and Send exact tax amount setting, the form adjusts to highlight which values impact export. Editable fields are exported to Xero, while read-only fields are informative to show how the value will be calculated (use Calculate Tax to re-calculate the form).

  • Let Xero Calculate tax: Only NET or TOTAL values are utilized, with tax calculated in Xero based on the chosen Tax Code. In Datamolino, values calculated in Xero are displayed as read-only and automatically updated when changing Tax Code or using Calculate Tax to validate tax sums in the widget.

  • Send exact tax amount: You can edit the TAX field to override the calculated value.

Read only values serve to show you how the data will be calculated by Xero:

Changes to invoice coding flow

๐Ÿ‘‰Apply settings to all rows to intentionally edit all line items at once.

  • When Let Xero calculate is selected, all tax amounts are re-calculated when you change the Tax Code. This helps you validate the tax amounts in the validation widget.

  • When Send exact tax amount is selected, the bulk change of Tax Code will not re-calculate the tax amounts. This is in order to preserve the tax amounts as they were captured from the original document.

Apply settings to all rows to bulk change invoice coding of line items:
