If you hold stock and need to track inventory, you can now export quantities and item codes from Datamolino directly into Xero.

Short version: the UI for the line items will now include:

  • A dropdown to choose the Xero item from your inventory

  • Quantity - you can adjust the quantity, the Unit Price will be automatically recalculated from the sum of the line item

  • Unit Price - this is calculated based on the quantity of the item

New datamolino line item UI

How does it work?

Under the line items view, you can now see the additional export fields available for each line:

Item codes

  • Assign a specific item code from the dropdown.

  • This is the list of item codes that are already created in your Xero organisation

Quantity

  • If the quantity is not captured, the default setting is 1

  • You can edit the Quantity and the Unit Price will be automatically recalculated based on the sum of the line item.

If you want Datamolino to capture quantities on certain suppliers automatically, please reach out to our support team.

Unit price

  • This field is for your information only and cannot be edited by the user.

  • The Unit Price is calculated based on the quantity of the item.

  • When you edit the Quantity, the Unit Price is re-calculated by the system. Depending on which values are available, thy system chooses tax inclusive (TOTAL) or tax exclusive (NET) for the calculation.
